G3C - Your Gateway to Europe’s Chip Ecosystem

The German Chips Competence Centre (G3C) supports companies, start-ups and researchers in turning semiconductor ideas into reality. As Germany’s central contact point within the EU Chips Act, G3C provides free guidance, matchmaking and access to European pilot lines and expertise.

What We Offer

Technical Advisory

G3C provides neutral guidance on chip design, semiconductor processes and system integration - connecting you with experts across Germany and Europe to identify the right path forward.

Matchmaking & Partner Access

G3C connects you with research institutes, industry partners, technology providers and European pilot lines - helping you find the right expertise and collaboration partners across Europe.

Funding & Ecosystem Navigation

G3C helps you navigate European funding opportunities, initiatives and support programmes, helping you identify relevant partners and pathways within the European semiconductor ecosystem.

Training & Skills Development

G3C supports skills development through workshops, training and knowledge exchange on chip design, system integration and emerging semiconductor technologies.

How It Works

Step 1: Get in Touch

Whether you already have a concrete idea or are still exploring possibilities, you can contact G3C at any stage. Early exchange helps identify opportunities before complexity and costs increase.

Step 2: Initital Consultation

A dedicated contact person discusses your idea, objectives and challenges to understand your needs and define possible next steps.

Step 3: Expert Evaluation

G3C consults its network across research, industry and European initiatives to identify suitable technologies, partners and infrastructures for your project.

Step 4: Access

G3C provides recommendations and supports access to relevant partners, pilot lines and infrastructures to help turn ideas into concrete next steps.

Who We Support

Startups

G3C supports startups with early guidance, technical expertise and access to pilot lines - helping accelerate the path from concept to prototype.

Small and Medium-sized Enterprises

G3C helps SMEs integrate semiconductor technologies by providing technical orientation, relevant partners and feasible development pathways.

Industry & Corporate

G3C supports companies exploring semiconductor solutions through neutral guidance and access to specialised partners and infrastructures across Europe.

Research & Innovators

G3C supports collaboration between research and industry, helping translate semiconductor research into practical applications.

European Pilot Lines, CCCs and EuroCDP

European pilot lines are a central element of the European semiconductor ecosystem. They provide access to advanced infrastructure for chip design, process development, integration and packaging - bridging the gap between research and industrial application.

Instead of focusing on individual technologies alone, pilot lines enable users to validate concepts, develop prototypes and prepare solutions for scaling under realistic conditions.

G3C supports you in identifying the most suitable pilot line based on your specific technical requirements and project goals. This includes a structured assessment of feasibility, available technologies and potential development pathways.

Key areas covered by European pilot lines include:

  • Advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration
  • Chip design and system-on-chip development
  • Photonics and specialised semiconductor technologies

In addition, G3C helps you navigate related European initiatives such as the Chips Joint Undertaking, the European Design Platform (EuroCDP) and the aCCCess network of Chips Competence Centres.
